After School Daycare Hours & Information
School gets out at 2pm on Mondays this year! After School Daycare will be 2-5:30 Mondays
3-5:30 T-W-TH-F and on early release days Noon-5:30. Registration for the Daycare year is $25 (Sept-August) and then there is a daily fee. See Ms. Shawna in the office for details or talk to me Ms. Sarah.
After School Daycare time will be spent having a snack, getting homework and reading done and then park time or rest time. The room used is #4 next to the garden boxes. Thank You!

Attention Summer Bridge Book Students! Thank you for working on your books this summer! Please turn in your completed books by Friday September 6th for a reward. The rewards will be given out at our schools' first Monday assembly September 9th. Please mark your book with your name and drop your book off in the hot pink box found in the school office entry. Smokey Haze at School and Back to School Shopping
Here at St. Anne Summer Daycare we are surviving the smokey haze with limited outdoor play ( morning only ) and 2 HEPA filters running in our classroom. ( Thank you to the parent that brought them in! ) I completed my back to school supply shopping list for my son. I first made a budget and then bought Fred Meyer scrip from the school for our purchases. I used a extra coupon from the Fredy's store and received an extra 20 % off school supplies. I later went to BIG LOTS to see the other themes of school folders and thought that the coupon, prices, and selection at Fred Meyer was better. Our family saved several dollars by reusing my son's backpack, scissors, calculator, school supply box and lunch box from last year. I am proud of him for keeping good care of those items. It is also being "GREEN" recycling items still usable. Happy Summer! Happy August! Happy Health! Ms. Sarah

Summer Day Care 2013 at St. Anne Catholic School
We have 18 students enrolled for the Summer Day Care Program this 2013. Some full time students and some part time students. So far this summer we have enjoyed activities like going to the Lincoln Playground, working in the Summer Bridge Books, VBS with the St. Anne Catholic Church ( western themed ) , Caveman Pool Field Trip, Reading, Water Play, Harvesting the Garden, Lego Building. ART, Mass on Thursday and afternoon Movie Time.

ART MIDDLE SCHOOL
Today we printed the student names with ink from their carving project.
Each student that completed their project got to print on to three pieces of paper. Some students brought an extra item to print on to. This project was a great introduction to the next level of craving we will be doing next week into a clay board.

Saturday, June 1st 2013 is this years FLEA MARKET
Donations are needed and can be dropped off in box in the school office or in the box outside next to the Pepsi machine.
When you do spring cleaning thing of some items you might want to donate or maybe if you several items you might want to rent a booth and have your own sale. Booths are $25. All proceeds benefit the school. The sale will take place in the front school parking lot. Set time is June 1st 6:00am til 7:45 am. The FLEA MARKET is 8 til 2. Clean up needs to be by 4pm.

Half Days at St. Anne School
What great timing, the sun is out and so is school. We have half days Wednesday, Thursday and Friday for conferences with your student's teacher and to receive report cards. We have daycare available noon til 5:30 and we have had a strong attendance. Our Master Gardener Volunteer has spent several hours working on preparing our garden beds for seed planting! Her time is very much appreciated.

April Showers Bring May Flowers! Happy Spring
I had a busy week working my regular time with my Kindergarten Angels , working in the school office while Ms Shawna was away and then subbed in Pre-K twice. We also had Wednesday off from school, so we had all day daycare in my class room! Wacky spring weather brought us rain and sun shine.
The Kinder's enjoyed painting a themed picture of " April Showers Bring May Flowers!"
We are also praying that the April Showers will bring back Mrs. T too.

Easter Craft & Bake Sale
This Tuesday we will start selling our Easter Craft & Bake Sale Items! The table will be set up in front of the school office window. I need all Marie Callendar's Pie orders by the end of Tuesday's school day. The pies will be available on Friday and over Palm Sunday weekend. We will have Easter figurines , hand knit spring scarfs, hair bows & head bands, complete Easter baskets with toys and candy filled eggs , fudge, cakes, cookies and more. Our sale will be moved to the Parish Center after Saturday night mass and for all of Palm Sunday's Mass times. Come support our school with the purchase of these goodies!

Pre- K & Kindergarten Round Up Week
Kindergarten Class has ZUMBA and the lettter X crafts this week. Along with water coloring a rainbow for a St. Patrick's Day Picture. We have Pre-K and Kindergarten "Round UP" night this coming Wednesday. March 13th 6-7pm . Please invite families to come visit and get to know our teachers and classrooms. The Middle School Art class will be learning about carving and black and white printing. Thinking through negative space and how to carve out negative space. We will be drawing pandas and zebras. We will be preparing for a carving and printing project we can do thanks to Art class donations from a Parishioner at the Auction.

V week for Kinders & CAREER DRESS UP on Wacky Wednesday
V week for the Kinders and will be making a big brown Violin. The shortest month of the year is almost gone and we will soon be making St. Patrick's Day theme crafts and Easter celebration crafts.
Don't forget to dress up WACKY WEDNESDAY for the CAREER THEME. What do you want to be when you grow up? BIG QUESTION for young kindlers. Have fun with it. So far I know we will have a fireman, a singer, a chef , and a famous ARTIST. ????????????????

Auction Week !!! Roaring 20's
Auction week is here! Lots of work to be done. The theme is staged around our school's 20th anniversary. The set up of the Sky Room will be Friday. (all day) The volunteers working the event need to meet Jon Tunick Friday @ 5pm for training and a run down on all the will be happening during and for the Auction. Then if you are working the event we all need to be dressed up and ready to work by 5pm Saturday! All of us working the event can bid and buy items too! This will be a great night for our school. Middle School Art Contests
Happy Weekend Everyone!
The middle school Art class just finished the Oregon State "Gambling Awareness" Art Contest.
Each student that turned in on time will earn a pizza gift card and the school earns $100 for entering the contest. I am very excited for our students this year because one middle schooler from Josephine County will win a spot in the Calendar for 2014!
This week I gave a chance for Art students to enter another contest for 5 extra credit points. Those students that did not turn in their assignment on time should do this extra credit for improvement of your grade. I left copies of the entry and the entry themes in your classroom with Mrs. Garcia. It is for the Humane Society. Each grade level has a different theme to draw and write about. This project is due March 15th 2013. I will mail the entries in for you.

This week.......Valentine's Day, Lenten Dinner, & BINGO
Kindergarten will have a healthy snack with a heart craft the last hour of school on the 14th. It is also the 100th day of school so they will be enjoying a M&M cookie in the am with Mrs. T. Our class basket theme for BINGO is "Easter Items". We have had stuffed Animals , a blue tub, egg dye kit, a table runner and kitchen towels all in Easter theme come in so far. Each student in Kindergarten and in 3/4th grade class has been asked to provide $5 to buy the food for this Friday's Lenten Dinner. We are making Veggie Chili. Kindergarten students can make Valentine's for their fellow students and we have (shoe box) MAIL BOXES for their Valentine delivery.

Big Craft week in Kindergarten this week. R crafts and Valentine crafts. Parachute PE play too!Middle School Art class is working on a Oregon State Art Contest for gambling awareness. Each student will win a Papa Murphy's Pizza. The School gets a $100 Visa card for entering our students. We are working on design , balance and plans for winning entries. The middle school students need to turn in a final Art project to me on Feb. 20th when class starts at 1:30.
